Missions

At First United Methodist Church of Oviedo, our desire is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and to participate in the work of the Holy Spirit reconciling the world to God. We are committed to the mission of the church, fulfilling the great commission given in Matthew 28:19, by raising up disciples of Jesus Christ in every nation. We consider it joy to be Christ's humble ambassadors, spreading the message of peace and reconciliation (Matthew 5:9; Acts 10:35-36; 2 Corinthians 5:18-20). We believe there are three components to proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ.

To proclaim freedom for the sinner (Romans 8:1-2)
To proclaim freedom for the poor, prisoner, and oppressed (Luke 4:18-19)
To proclaim freedom for the sick (Matthew 11:5; Luke 4:18)
