Open hearts, Open minds, Open doors

Our Mission:  To turn ourselves and our community upside down, for the first shall be last and the last shall be first.

Summer-time is when we really get busy! This past summer we had three amazing mission trips. Two groups of high school students went to Grecia, Costa Rica to help a local church with construction and work at an area orphanage. We also had a group of students, including 7th and 8th graders travel to Lineville, Alabama to attend a week at SIFAT (Service in Faith and Technology), an experience designed to give them real missionary training.

Service

Youth Sunday:  Each year our Student Ministries Department hosts a full Sunday of worship services produced and performed entirely by students. (Join us this year on September 14th!)
  • 30 Hour Famine:  Once a year, our students spend a weekend, 30 hours to be exact, fasting (juice and rice provided as needed). It gives us a "taste" for real poverty and a chance to raise funds for those really in need. (This year, we'll be fasting November 9-10)
  • Vacation Bible School:  A chance for our older students to lead our younger ones as the 7th-12th graders help take charge of more than 500 area kids for a week of fun and spiritual celebration.
  • Pumpkin Patch:  Every October our students run a local pumpkin patch to raise funds for Student Ministries and spread the love of God.
  • World Vision:  For the past seven years, our students have given of their own money to personally support a child in need through World Vision
  • Community Service:  Throughout the year, our students perform a variety of services for our community, including helping at Hope MInistries and Orlando Rescue Mission.
